Tours lead visitors through interactive period rooms and special exhibits filled
with the exciting story of Amherst’s history. Images of the past are created using
decorative and fine arts, period clothing and textiles, household tools, artifacts
from local industry, and other fascinating bits and pieces of local culture. They
are brought to life with tales of people such as Simeon Strong, Mrs. Sarah Emerson,
Mabel Loomis Todd, Phyllis Finnemore, and Sarah Foote, all of whom either inhabited our
house or lived in our town.
